Is He Flirting

Is he flirting with you? What’s the deal with that cryptic smile? How can you tell if he is just being nice or if he is really interested in you? Recognizing the signs of flirting can help determine if he really likes you and help give you the confidence to take that next step.

First relax. Overanalyzing or over thinking the situation isn’t going to help at all. Odds are if you get the feeling that he likes you, well then he probably does. Over thinking and analyzing every single moment or aspect of every single second of conversing that you have ever had will force you to lose your concentration and appear nervous. Remember, no matter how many beer commercials you have seen, meeting someone special is not a game. There are not any hard and fast rules that you have to follow, no expectations that you have to fulfill, and the entire process should not be that hard. Mutual attraction is just that, mutual. He is probably feeling the same way, excitement and just a little nervousness. Creating some sort of game where you have to live up to some kind of performance is never really going to work in the long haul. You want someone who will like you for who you are anyway. So relax.

The first step is to recognize the signs that he is flirting with you. These of course differ with different people, but there are some general signs to look for. Recognizing and understanding these signs will make you relatively sure that he is into you, and it should build up your confidence enough to take that next step. Signs that he likes may be that smile or look. Not just looking at you, but looking at you in a way that just gives you that feeling. Ask a friend’s opinion, is he flirting or just looking? Most times guys will tell someone else, or ask someone else about you. Just casually. He just might keep showing up nearby, or finding ways to come closer to you.

Now it is time to move along to the next step. Remember to relax, have fun. Don’t worry so much about how you appear in other peoples’ eyes. While you think that that will make you look good to other people, it is really a trap door. Attempting to maintain appearances based on other peoples ideals will only serve to force you to act differently than how you normally would act. People will see right through that. You are not a character on TV or in the movies. You are you and that is what makes you different. Again, all the signs show that he is into you, why step up and act contradictory to yourself? It’s confusing and hard to keep track of. Better to just be yourself. Make it easy for him too. He is nervous as well; let him know that you want him to come over. Nothing crazy, just a light smile or look will do. Present body language that lets him know, this will help him overcome his shyness.

The best piece of advice to meeting or growing closer to anyone is listening. It is a great way to have a conversation and help the other person to relax. Let him do most of the talking while you actively listen and learn. Ask him questions about himself. What does he like to do? Is he into sports, music or art? What does he do? Everybody likes to talk about themselves. It’s just a fact. Letting him talk about his hobbies and interests will get the ball rolling into a relaxed conversation. Everyone likes to have someone listen and care about what they are saying. So listen intently. Nod your head, ask relevant questions. For example, if he is into music; ask about his favorite type or band. Ask if he has seen them live or bought their new CD. Does he play any instruments? Eventually he will turn the conversation towards what you like and what your hobbies are. Who knows? You might even have the same hobbies or interests, or you may have different hobbies that make him interested in learning more about them. No matter what, you have now been conversing for a while now, and the tension is gone, the ice is broken and you are free to get to know one another. Relax, it’s supposed to be fun. Found out-is he flirting with you? If it turns out just not to be right, then no harm done.
